Nashtar Episode 23: What Happens
- The thread from Episode 22. Dawood had taunted Bareera’s claim that she would take her own life. She jumped into the river, and he saved her. Viewers read the rescue as the moment he starts falling for her.
- A worried Dawood. The official Episode 23 teaser frames the episode in one line: Shah Dawood is worried for Bareera. The rescue did not settle anything. It left him concerned for her.
- The promo question. Har Pal Geo’s Episode 23 promo asks whether Bareera will choose her peace over this relationship. That is the question the episode sits under.
- The contemplation scene. Episode 23 features Shah Dawood drinking alcohol while thinking about getting closer to his wife Bareera, whom he married by force. Two independent reports of the episode describe this same moment.
- Not a confession. Nothing verified says Dawood verbally admits love in Episode 23. What the episode shows, per the reports, is a man drinking and thinking about getting closer to his wife. The feeling is shown through that scene, not through a spoken confession.
- The season thread still stands. Tamseel, who has always loved Dawood, refuses to accept Bareera in his life. That is the official season synopsis. No Episode 23-specific Tamseel scene could be verified, so no such scene is claimed here.
Key Moments in Episode 23
- Dawood worried for Bareera. The teaser’s own framing, and the clearest sign of how far he has moved since his Episode 22 taunt.
- The drinking scene. Dawood alone with a glass, thinking about getting closer to Bareera. It is the episode’s most talked-about moment, and the one that split viewers.
- The turn, made visible. In Episode 22 he taunted her and then saved her. In Episode 23 he worries for her and reaches for a drink while thinking about her. The direction of his feelings is no longer deniable, even to himself.
- The backlash. The drinking scene drew severe public criticism the day after airing, with viewers questioning why the scene needed alcohol at all.
- The performances. Danish Taimoor carries the episode’s quieter turn as Dawood, and Anmol Baloch remains the centre the story turns around.
Cast of Nashtar Episode 23

- Anmol Baloch as Bareera Aijaz — defiant and principled, the wife Dawood married by force and now cannot stop thinking about.
- Naeema Butt as Tamseel — the season’s third corner. The official synopsis frames her as the woman who has always loved Dawood and refuses to accept Bareera in his life. No Episode 23-specific Tamseel scene is verified here.
- Haroon Shahid as Arbaz — part of the main cast for the season.
- Usmaan Peerzada as Dastoor Ali Khan, Yousuf Bashir Qureshi as Behram Ali Khan, Shahnawaz Zaidi as Professor Aijaz, and Mahmood Aslam as Mansab Ali Khan — the supporting cast around the central story.
Fan Reactions: The Alcohol Scene Divides Viewers
The drinking scene is what viewers argued about after Episode 23. Reports from 25 and 26 October 2026 quote the criticism directly.
One viewer wrote: “What’s with showing alcohol again and again in the dramas. Be the saviour of your culture, don’t be the followers of the devil.”
Another said: “Why was there a need to show alcohol, the same scene could have been shown without the alcohol. Shame on the makers.”
A third reaction read: “Drinking is haram in Islam, it went keep on telecasting such scenes, it will wrongly educate the youth regarding alcohol consumption.”
Even fans of the lead actor were surprised. One comment read simply: “I like Danish Taimoor but alcohol?”
Others pushed back on blaming the actor, saying the decision rests with the production team, not with him. The scene divided viewers, but it also kept the episode as the week’s talking point.
